Used Daihatsu Hijet

Another Daihatsu brand of excellence is the Daihatsu Hijet, built since 1984. The first few generations of the Daihatsu Hijet are more of a van type. These cars were built between 1984 and 2004. The latest and more sophisticated versions of the Hijet generation were made from 1996–1998. Daihatsu started building the van type Hijet as a response to the increasing demand of cargo type multi-purpose cars. Price range during that time, depending on quality, age, engine performance, and accessories, was from £4558 to £17,149. Used Daihatsu price range may fall half of the original one, although there are still a couple of individuals and companies that usually go for this car type due to its space functionality. It has the largest boot space available among all multi-purpose car types within its specification in the market during its production period. The highest record sale for the Hijet happened two years (1986) after the initial production units were made. Additional units were also requested until such time that its value started diminishing due to the production of latest cars with bigger and wider headroom and legroom. This is in addition to other factors, such as the progress of addressing the setbacks given by the people who have used it. Although tiny in appearance compared to L300 and other cars with similar specifications, this car was only powered by a 1.3 liter engine: a quite small engine in relation to its actual size. This explains one of the reasons for the car’s outstanding fuel economy and mileage. The 1.3 liter engine was only produced in petrol type with a 5-speed gearbox transmission engine. The exterior is attractive and is comparably sturdy. Interior materials are satisfactory but they obviously wear out easily. It has poor headroom as well. People reaching the 6 feet mark will have a difficult time stuffing themselves inside. The proximity of the windscreen to the driver seat is enough to drive a shy driver away. This proximity also allows outside noise to be heard even in an all-closed window screen setup. As already stated, fuel economy is one of its creative and exciting features. The Hijet optimizes its 1.3 engine through its overall lightness. Although its average car engine power is at 64 bhp, at around 4800 rpm, it still delivers the kind of performance the general population expects of this car. The car also boasts of its above average torque capability of 73 lb-ft (2800 rpm). It may not have power steering features, but being lightweight will surely allow this car to catapult itself to a competitive race.
