Used Fiat Scudo Combi

The Fiat Scudo Combi is part of a series of medium-sized cars first introduced by Fiat in 1995 In size, it is positioned between the bigger Fiat Ducato and the smaller Fiat Doblo vans. Car designers are always wrestling with the problem of accommodating more people without sacrificing passenger luggage space. The Fiat with the Combi has a van that achieves this balance. In the Combi, both people and luggage get the same preferential treatment. It is not surprising at all that the Combi is a popular choice for a taxi, as it is easily configured to comfortably handle five to seven people, including luggage. Its car-like handling also does not hurt at all. The Combi comes in five-seat or six- seat versions. In both, seats feature special padding, multi-adjustment, three-point belts, and head restraints that can be adjusted and removed to improve visibility from the rear. The rear has changed a little over the years but the front is another matter. The bumper has become deeper and on either side of a rather chunky lattice grille embossed with Fiat badge are big clear lens headlights. Inside, you would not easily spot the Combi’s distinctions from an old model Scudo. At the center of the console is a flip-top ashtray for smokers. Gear stick is dash-mounted and there are deep door pockets for your valuables. The driver’s seat comfortably settles you down low but visibility is never impaired. If you are a neophyte, you will not immediately notice that the seats have been reshaped and the steering wheel is now equipped with a remote control for a CD stereo player. The age of the Combi, however, is revealed to an old Scudo hand by a ventilation lever control that is obviously taken from previous used Fiat Scudo models. You have two engine choices – an entry-level 1.9D and a 2.0-liter 8-valave JTD engine. The 1.9-liter is definitely for the budget restricted and 2.0-liter, which offers a far more powerful performance, is for those who have a little more money. The 1.9D engine generates a modest 69 horsepower, a far cry from the 109 horsepower that the 2.0-liter JTD is capable of. At 2,500rpm, the 1.9D produces 92lb- ft of torque, a laughable figure beside the 184lb-ft at 1,750rpm of the 2.0-liter engine. JTD models have airbags and ABS options, three-year Fiat paintwork, and an eight-year anti-perforation warranty that also cover all Scudo vehicles. You will want to consider all these when comparing prices with similar van models.
